Bei 5 Sho(r)ts gibt es eine Box. In dieser Box befinden sich Karten in drei Kategorien, Serious, Music und Fun. Der/die Interviewpartner*in/en ziehen aus jeder Kategorie eine Karte und danach noch zwei zur freien Auswahl. Niemand weiß, welche Fragen sich dahinter verbergen. Der Fragenpool wächst auch immer wieder an. Somit werden den Interviewten nicht die selben abgedroschenen Fragen gestellt und es ist immer ein etwas anderes Interview.
#17 – Chon Travis (Love Equals Death)
Dieses mal ist Chon Travis, seines Zeichens Sänger der kalifornischen Punkrockband Love Equals Death mein Gast. Die Band existiert seit 2003 und hat über SBÄM Records ihre letzte Veröffentlichung Gravity & Grace 2022 gehabt. Laut eigener Aussage wurden sie an Halloween gegründet. Hier die 5 Sho(r)ts von Chon:
1Kategorie „SERIOUS“: Do you support or are you in any organization against racism, antisemitism or any other discrimination?
Chon: I am not a participant in any organization at all. i do believe in unity. That´s my personal thing. I am not a member in any antifa groups or anything like that.
2Kategorie „MUSIC“: How many weeks a year you touring and what´s the best on tour?
Chon: We end up touring about, let´s see, probably about at least 15 weeks a year. that´s ideal. But we´re lucky to get about ten weeks this year because of the pandemic that is still running. So that´s actuall the best on touring that we can do it.
3Kategorie „FUN“: What TV Shows do you love?
Chon: I don´t watch TV that long time, but there´s this show called The Chi on Netflix, or no it is on Showtime I think. It´s kinda based in Chicago and it kinda reminds me of me growing up, when I was a kid. I also watch The Deadliest Catch, the fishing show. That´s pretty much my favorites.
4Kategorie „MUSIC“: Promote your new/actual album in three sentences.
Chon: I believe it´s the best work that i´ve done so far. It´s really the next level up from our last fully. It´s fucking good and I´m very proud of it.
5Kategorie „SERIOUS“: In my opinion every band should have a clear political standing. Would you tell me yours?
Chon: Well, I honestly believe in unity. Uniting the people against the empires, the governmental empires, speaking with one tongue and look after each other. Everything that divides people is a bad thing. That´s just my personal thing. I think without that governmental shit we could live all together. I know that´s a pipe dream, but that´s what I I believe in or dream of.
