Ich habe mir mal erspart den Pressetext zu übersetzen, bei dem ich Pissed Regardless in diesem Review zunächst einmal kurz vorstellen möchte. Der Text ist so geil geschrieben, dass eine gute Übersetzung nahezu unmöglich ist, um den drive des Originals auch nur annähend wiederzugeben. Herrlich…

Formed in 2013 in North County, San Diego, PISSED REGARDLESS was founded with the intent of writing vicious crossover punk/hardcore thrash metal, the band bearing a special talent at composing ripping fast, to-the-point hardcore that displays the outfit’s punk and grind influences on its sleeve. The result is a contagious burst of heaviness that’ll have most headbangers rejoicing in no time, as proven on their previous two full-length albums – 2013’s self-titled album and 2015’s Force Fed Gods.

The Creator-Destructor PISSED REGARDLESS debut comes in the form of the ripping new Feed The Birds 7”, the record crushing with five brand new tracks of thrashing metallic madness, sure to please fans of the 1990s Earache death/grind persuasion and 1980s punk/hardcore alike. Feed The Birds was recorded at Doubletime Recording Studio, engineered, mixed and mastered by Jeff Forrest and produced by PISSED REGARDLESS, and is finished with artwork by Rich Sampson.

Pissed Regardless, besser hätte man diese wunderbar rotzige und schmutzige Combo nicht nennen können. Sei es der rotzige Gesang von Matt, die frechen und fetzigen Gitarrenorgeleien von Sean und Sandals, das Geknüppel von Tim oder die Lauforgien von Taylor am Bass. Ich war mir selten gleich so sicher, dass diese Band mit Feed The Birds die Lücke zwischen Hardcore und Metal schließt. Sei es durch Ausflüge in Punk und Grind, rüber zum Thrash und dann wieder klassische Hardcore-Elemente.

Mir persönlich ist es heutzutage oft alles zu perfekt: zu clean, zu „Ich bin technisch und Klangmäßig so sauber und deshalb so geil“. Nicht dass ich so etwas verdamme, aber vermutlich ist dass der Grund, weshalb ich mich in dieses Release sofort verliebt habe.

Man fühlt sich auch ein Stück weit wieder in seine Jugend zurückversetzt und merkt, dass trotz höherem Alter das Herz noch an der gleichen Stelle schlägt und man sehr wohl jung geblieben ist und offen. Pissed Regardless ist trotz ihres bereits dritten Tonträgers definitiv ein Geheimtipp mit Rangelpotential – auch für die Langhaarliga! Herrlich, dass man zusammen feiern kann. Dreht laut und genießt!

Pissed Regardless, this great bolshie and dirty combo couldn’t be named better. Whether the bolshie singing of Matt, the cheeky and jiggy guitarplaying of Sean and Sandals, the clogging of Tim or those runningsprees of Taylor on the bass. I rarely was sure that fast, that this band closes the gap between Hardcore and Metal. Whether because of the journey into Punk and Grind, flip over to Thrash and over to classic Hardcore. For me nowadays to much is to perfect, to clean to “I got balls, because I am technically so great and my sound is so clean”. It’s not that way, that I don’t like it, but maybe the reason, why I immediately felt in love with this 5 songs carrying 3^rd album is just that one that it isn’t that way. You just feel like back in your youth and notice that even if you’re older, the heart still is beatin on the same place and for sure stayed you young and open minded. PISSED REGARDLESS, definitely a sleeper (even if it’s the 3^rd record!!!) with dancingcharacter, even for the “Longhairleague”! Great, that we can have a party together! Turn the volume up and enjoy!
