Einiges los bei All For Nothing. Trotz diverser Wechsel im Line-Up spielte die holländische Hardcore Band im Sommer einige Festivals und hat gerade ihre Club-Tour beendet. Nun arbeitet die Band um die charasmatische Frontfrau Cindy an Songs für ein neues Album. Wir konnten mit All For Nothing, neben der Musik, auch über die aktuelle politische Situation in den Niederlanden und Deutschland in einen Interview reden.

AFL: Hey! Ihr hattet diesen Sommer ein Wechsel im Line-Up. Könnt ihr uns kurz sagen weshalb es zum Wechsel kam und eures neues Mitglied kurz vorstellen?

Hey! Wir haben sogar 2 neue Mitglieder! Unser neuer Schlagzeuger heißt Roel. Er spielte zuvor in verschiedenen anderen Band. Ein paar von ihnen hatten sogar Top 10 Hits in den Niederlande. Er ist sehr professionell und kennt sich auch wahnsinnig gut mit den Schlagzeug aus. Ganz davon abgesehen ist er ein großartig Kerl! Es hat seit den ersten Tag super mit Roel gepasst!

Neben Roel haben wir mit Tim auch einen neuen Gitarristen. Tim half uns bereits während der Tour mit Walls Of Jericho aus. Ein richtig Kumpel eben! Er ist nebenbei außerdem Tontechniker von Bands wie John Coffey. Er ist also richtig fit mit Sound und Equipment-Dingen!

Die Wechsel kamen zustande, weil sich unser ehemaliger Gitarrist und Drummer dazu entschlossen haben ihren Fokus auf anderen Dinge im Leben zu legen. Wir sind immer noch in Kontakt und hängen ab und an auch miteinander ab. Wir sind sehr gespannt wo es All For Nothing in Zukunft mit den neuen Line-Up hinführt!

AFL: Ihr habt in diesen Sommer eine Menge Festivals gespielt und habt erst vor kurzem eure Club-Tour beendet. Was mögt ihr den am Touren am meisten?

Der täglichen Routine zu entfliehen und ein paar Abenteuer zu erleben. Das hält einen jung!

AFL: Während der Tour im November habt ihr bis auf eine Show in Prag alle Shows in Deutschland gespielt. Bekommt ihr dort die aktuelle Diskussion über Refugees mit? Was ist den eure Meinung zu den aktuellen Thema?

Ja na klar bekommen wir das mit! Ich denke das Länder wie Deurtschland oder Holland anderen Menschen die wirklich in Not sind helfen sollten. Die Medien kotzten mich extrem an, weil sie nur über die für sie wichtigen „Informationen“ berichten und so die Meinung der Masse manipulieren! Da gibt es so viele Videos die Refugess so darstellen, als wären sie alle Wirtschaftsflüchtlinge oder Mörder. Natürlich gibt es immer ein paar schwarze Schafe, aber man kann nicht von den wenigen auf eine ganze Gruppe schließen. Die Menschen neigen leider dazu, dass sie alles was sie in den Medien sehen oder hören glauben. Man sollte mal genau hinschauen, die Quellen prüfen und auch einmal etwas hinterfragen!

AFL: Wie ist die Situation in den Niederlanden?

Die Situation in den Niederlanden ist ähnlich wie die in Deutschland. Die Lücke zwischen links und rechts wird immer größer. Die Menschen die in den untersten Klassen leben werden immer wütender und fühlen sich von den Refugees angegriffen. Stark rechte Gruppierungen stören offizielle Treffen, um darüber mit zu diskutieren wo die Flüchtlinge unterkommen. Wir sehen, dass die Gewalt zunimmt, weil sich viele Niederländer nicht in den Entscheidungen der Politik einbezogen fühlen.

Die Entscheidung ist ihrer Meinung nach schon längst getroffen ohne das sie zu ihren Standpunkt gefragt werden. Personen wie Geert Wilders (Vorstand der rechtspopulistischen Partij voor de Vrijheid) und einige andere Medien oder Personen wollen durch die Ängste der Bevölkerung einen Vorteil ziehen. Auf der anderen Seite gibt es auch viele Menschen, wie wir, die an die Menschlichkeit glauben und Mitgefühl zeigen.

AFL: Gibt es abgesehen von der Diskussion ein paar Dinge die ihr an Deutschland besonders mögt?

Wir lieben die deutsche Hardcore Mentalität. Die Menschen sind süchtig nach Hardcore und sehr engagiert innerhalb der Szene! Da wird schonmal mehre 100 Kilometer gefahren, um eine Hardcore-Show zu besuchen.

AFL: Was macht ihr als erstes, wenn ihr den Tourbus am Ende einer Tour verlasst?

Wir nehmen eine ausgiebig warme lange Dusche!

AFL: Ihr seit in meinen Augen eine Live-Band, die auf der Bühne viel Energie rüber bringt. Trainiert ihr dafür, um so viel Power auf die Bühne zubringen? Und gab es auf der Bühne schonmal Verletzungen während einer Show?

Jeder trainiert das auf seine eigene Art und Weise. Ein paar von uns machen intensives Einzeltraining. Das hilft einen wirklich sehr in der Spur zu bleiben. Wir hatten alle schonmal ein paar Verletzungen. Die waren ganz unterschiedlicher Art und haben variiert von einen Sturz von der Bühne bis hin zu gebrochenen Zähnen.

AFL: Ich hab ein All For Nothing T-Shirt mit den Slogan „it´t not just boys fun” gesehen. Was denkt ihr über die momentane Hardcore Szene? Warum sind dort doch größtenteils mehr Männer? Oder wandelt sich das Blatt momentan ein wenig?

Langsam aber sicher kommen auch mehr und mehr Girls zum Hardcore. Wenn man es mit der Zeit vergleich wo wir vor ca. 10 Jahren mit All For Nothing angefangen haben gibt es schon einen großen Anstieg. Aber es ist trotzdem noch ein weiter Weg!

AFL: Was haltet ihr von DIY?

DIY ist immer eine coole Sache wenn es mit Leidenschaft getan wird!

AFL: Ihr habt 2014 „What lies withing us“ veröffentlicht. Gibt es schon Pläne für ein neues Release?

Wir schreiben gerade mit unseren neuen Line-Up neue Songs und wollen vor so bald wie möglich ein neues Album veröffentlichen!

AFL: Danke fürs Interview. Habt ihr irgendwelche Abschlussworte?

There is a lot going on with the dutch hardcore band All For Nothing. In addition to changes in the line-up All For Nothing played some festivals in the summer and just finised their club tour. Now the band around the charismatic front woman Sindy are working on new material for a new album. We will discuss in an interview with the band about the band and the current political situation in the Neatherlands and Germany.

AFL: You had a Line-Up change this summer. Could you tell us why and introduce your new member?

We have two new members. Our new drummer is named Roel. He used to play in different bands, a few of them also had some top 10 hit songs in the Netherlands. He is very professional and knows a lot about drums. Besides that he is a great guy and it worked out from day one. And our „new“ guitarplayer is Tim. Tim already did a fill in tour with us when we hit the road with Walls of Jericho. Solid dude. Besides that he is a sound engineer for bands like John Coffey, and really knows alot concering sound and gear. Both of the other guys decided they wanted to focus on other priorities in life. We are still in touch and from time to time haning out. We are very exited about our new line up and what the future brings.

AFL: You played a lot of festivals this summer and in the end of October you was on tour again. What do you like most about touring?

Being away from the daily routine. Having an escape and some adventure. It keeps you young.

AFL: Without the Prague concert, every show of the tour will took place in Germany. Are you into the current public discussion about refugees? There is a lot of agitation and prejudices. What do you think about that?

Of course we are into the current public discussion about the refugees. We believe countries like our own should help out the people who are truly in need, every act of kindness makes a difference! The media piss me off a lot, because they only share certain „information“ the manipulate the opinion of the mass. There are a lot of videos out there that portray the refugees as a group of just economic migrants and killers. Of course the are always rotten apples but you cannot let the actions of a few speak for a whole group. People tend to believe everything they see and hear on TV and Facebook, but the should double check the sources!

AFL: How is the situation in the Netherlands?

The situation in the Netherlands is kinda the same as Germany. The gap between left and right is getting bigger. The people who live in the lowest classes are getting more angry en feel threatened by the refugees. Far right groups are disrupting meetings organised to discuss locations of refugee centres. We’re seeing increased violence because a lot of Dutch people feel left out of the decision making. The decision has already been made in their opinion. And people like Geert Wilders and some of the media take advantage of that fear. On the other hand there are many people like us who believe in humanity and compassion.

AFL: Apart from that, are there any things you like particular in Germany?

We love the German mentality concerning hardcore. People seem to be really dedicated. They also travel crazy amounts of miles to get to a hardcore show.

AFL: What is the first thing you do after leaving the tour bus/van at the end of a tour?

A long hot shower!

AFL: In my eyes All For Nothing is a very energetic live band. Do you train yourselves to keep the power on stage? Did you ever had any injuries on stage?

We tend to work out all in our own way. Ernst en I do a high intensity training at Koud Staal personal training. It really helps keeping up track. We also all had some injuries, varying from falling of stage to broken teeth.

AFL: I saw a shirt of your band with the slogan „it´t not just boys fun”. What do you think currently about the hardcore scene? Why is it that dominated by men? Is there a change in sight?

Slowly but surely there are more girls getting involved in hardcore. Compared to 10+ years when I started singing in All For Nothing, it has been a big improvement but we still have a long way to go.

AFL: Let´s talk about DIY. What are your experiences? Do you still support DIY?

DIY is always a cool thing if it is done with passion!

AFL: You released “What lies within us” in 2014. Do you already have any plans for a new record?

Currently writing new songs with our new line up. We are planning on releasing a full length as soon as we can.

AFL: Last words? Anything you ever wanted to say in an interview but never dared before?
