Jay spielt in der französischen Band Not Your Mother. Tatsächlich gibt es die Band noch garnicht so lange, klingt aber richtig gut.
Hier ist Jays Liste an Lieblingsplatten, viel Spaß damit!
1Motorhead – Rock’n Roll
Because this album, for me, is simply the ultimate rock ’n’ roll, just as its name suggests.
2NOFX – White trash, two heebs and a bean
It’s the first melodic punk album I ever loved. There was something in this band that was different from the other Californian punk rock groups. The melodies, the lyrics, and their whole vibe completely blew me away.
3Fugazi – red médecine
I’ve always loved Fugazi. Ever since 13 Songs, this band completely shook up the punk and noise scene, in my opinion. On Red Medicine, they explored even more sounds and twisted their rock in a masterful way. Joe Lally, the bassist, is an absolute reference for me.
4The Cure – seventeen seconds
I discovered this Cure album when I was about 8 or 9 years old. My older sister had it, and she used to play it often.
A Forest’ is, for me, one of the greatest songs of all time.
5Cock Sparrer – Shock Troop
It’s the first album I found to be both pop and unifying. There was, in it, the birth of ‘Oi!’, which really touched me.
6Nomeansno – the the worldhood of the world (as such)
Nomeansno and I — it’s a great love story. This album is the perfect mix of everything they’ve ever done best, with a superb pop touch and magnificent energy. Once again, just like with Fugazi, Rob Wright is a role model for me.
7Against Me – is reinventing
I love everything about Against Medicine — or almost — but it’s the album I’ve listened to the most. This band often moves me through their melancholy and the power of their melodies, with that incredible voice and an undeniable raw energy.
8Refused – songs to fan the flame of discontent
Refused have a lot of great EPs, but this album is pure violence! The riffs, the vocals, the compositions — everything is just incredible.
9Minor threat – out of step
Because it’s Minor Threat, and nobody can do anything against Minor Threat.
10Misfits – legacy of brutality
Everything the Misfits did with Danzig is absolutely perfect. I could have mentioned Die, Die My Darling, but that’s an EP, and on this album C we find Hybrid Moments, which I love so much that we even cover it with Not Your Mother
