„Sea Of Misery“ – Stream the new CROWNED KINGS full-length

0

Wehave been in love with Crowned Kings since they played our Stäbruch Festival two years ago. So we are more than happy that the Australian heavyweights will release their long awaited third album Sea Of Misery on the 23rd of March.

The follow-up of their album Forked Road (2015) was produced by Nick Jett (Terror, Piece By Piece) and includes 13 heavy songs in the vein of bands like Hatebreed, Terror or Sworn Enemy.

We’re are proud to present you an exclusive album stream of Sea Of Misery some days before the beast will release. We were also able to do a small interview with the guys. Enjoy!

Q&A with CROWNED KINGS to „Sea Of Misery“

AFL: How would you describe “Sea Of Misery” in three words?

Evolved, heavy and dark

AFL: What would you say is the main difference between “Sea Of Misery” and “Foarked Road”?

The writing is a lot better and also there is more of our influences coming through our music now.

AFL: “Sea Of Misery” was again as your second full-length produced by Nick Jett (Terror, Piece By Piece). Why you have chosen Nick again as you producer – do you want to maintain your sound from “Foarked Road“?

We went with Nick again because he is a great producer and engineer. We didn’t want the same sound as “Foarked Road” which was easy for Nick to make work.

AFL: In our review I write that I hear also a TERROR influence on your new record. Would you agree on that? What are your main musically influences on “Sea Of Misery”?

Yeah most definitely. Terror has always been a band that I have looked up to over the years so naturally that sound will come through my playing in some songs. Some of the other musical influences are bands like Slayer, Metallica, Pantera, Hatebreed and Merauder.

AFL: And what are your lyrically influences? Which themes you are threated and where do you get the inspiration?

My journey to through life has inspired my writing over the years playing music. “Sea Of Misery” is lyrically darker but also has a lot of good as well. We touch on many different themes throughout the album.

AFL: I heard that you have plans to come back to Europe this year. Can you say us some more about the dates and the tour period?

Yes, we are just waiting on our booking agency MAD Tourbooking to organize a suitable time for us to tour again.

Sea of Misery will be available on March 23 via Demons Run Amok and can be pre-ordered here as CD/LP and album bundles.
