Diese Nachricht kam doch relativ überraschend. Blitzkid werden nach ihrer Auflösung im Jahr 2012 ihr Live-Comeback feiern. So gab die einflussreiche Horror-Punk-Band eine umfangreiche US-Tour für den Frühling 2020 bekannt.

Blitzkid gründeten sich 1997 in West Virginia und veröffentlichten innerhalb ihrer 15-jährigen Schaffenszeit sechs Alben, bevor man sich 2012 auflöste. Das bisher letzte Album der Band stammt mit Apparitional aus dem Jahr 2011, das über People Like You Records erschienen ist. Hier das Statement von Blitzkid selbst zu ihrer Wiedervereinigung inklusive der Tour-Termine, bei denen nur zu hoffen bleibt, dass sie 2020 auch den Weg zu uns nach Europa finden:

After eight years of suspended animation…. BLITZKID, are poised to pry back the casket lid and escape the grave for a limited run of Spring 2020 tour dates! We are locked and loaded to play a string of 30 exclusive performances across the US before slipping back into shadowy sleep. General Admission tickets, (along with limited meet and greet options that include early entry, exclusive merchandise and a pre-show acoustic performance) will go on sale JANUARY 17th via ticket links provided at www.acwnnprod.com/shows.
Damnations resident stick-wielder Benny Austin (Benny Austin drums and percussion) will be holding down the drum fort, and original Blitzkid drummer Chris White will be making a few limited appearances as well (see show list).
The tour will officially conclude with the Trioxin Tribute at Debonair Music Hall in Teaneck, NJ. on May 30th where we will be appearing alongside Argyle Goolsby, @Damnation, A Gathering of None, Germany’s horrorpunk finest- The Crimson Ghosts and many more TBA.
